Hitting The Bar, Bye Bye Crypto & Wikipedia (Spoiler..Article..about..WSOP..Champ)

Hitting a few final tables this month and getting nearer the win. Doubt i will be as close as this again this month and fail. Got off to a bad start with AK getting beat by AQ and although i managed to accumulate i was always chasing so rarely in a position to collect heads..

Did get one bit of fortune with about 15 left when AQ vs AQ i hit a runner runner flush. But that was negated with 12 left when on a 3 way all in AK beat AJ to knock one out but lost to A7 for the main pot. Got a nice double up at the beginning of the final table but then it turn to crap

A bit of blind nicking as card dead and i got to top 4 without a showdown then it blew up.

I pick up Ad 7d in the big blind. Folded to shortstack who pushes. I call to see T5o. Ten on the flop weakens me dramatically. Then next orbit i get 22 in the SB (less than 5 bbs left)

Its folded to me so i push and pray. Called by 86o which duly hits and im gone.

Its all variance and ive my good fortune. Just a pain in the arse when its for a chance to win the tournament. Still its all good and a couple more quid in the coffers which is always useful.

I've give up on Pokerstars for the moment. It tilted me the other night to beat 5305 players and cash for $42. Its been something to try whilst ive been off but back to work on Monday so can't be doing with 8-9 hour slogs where you have to hit Final Table to get a big payout.

So its either grind at small 5000 runners and hope to go deep or up the stakes. The way i feel about Stars both are prob -ev. The time difference is a killer too but a small price to pay i suppose for us not being hammered in tax like the yanks.

Also on the subject of Online Poker. As you will have heard William Hill have bought Playtech and at the end of 2009 will move their entire poker operation to I-Poker.

Crypto as we know it will cease. They will be giving up the software and merging with the Boss Network (currently home to Virgin and PokerHeaven, etc) Dec 31st 2009 will be a sad day.

Crypto was the first place i played poker and has remained my favourite.

Anyways onto Wikipedia... This concerns the recent WSOP winner so if you still avoiding result to watch on tv then dont go further...........................

As most will know. Peter Eastgate won the WSOP main event. The haters must have been out early as his newly posted Wikipedia page was quickly edited by random people. A bit naughty but some of the following did make me laugh......................

Eastgate won his seat at the WSOP main event via the Ladbrokes Poker website, and travelled to Las Vegas as a part of their team. Later he switched his allegiances to Pokerstars.

Eastgate, reportedly loves him some b*tches

By winning the Main Event, he became 2nd youngest ever WSOP Main Event champion behind Phil Hellmuth who was 12 at the time of his victory.

For winning the WSOP he took home a nice cheeseburger

.

After winning the 2008 WSOP Main Event, Eastgate announced his homosexuality and proposed marriage to his long-time partner, Chris Ferguson.
