Isn't how i expected to be spending my Monday evenings but thats now the plan for the next 9 months. Had my 3 monthly (post car crash) medical on Wednesday. Basically the injuries were whiplash, damage to shoulder muscle and back with some bruising to the top of the cervical spine for good measure.
Good news though is that no lasting damage and with physio i will get back to normal. He quoted figures about being 78% healthy. I was a bit pissed off at the thought of Physio. Especially in the east end of Newcastle (Byker) as im still unable to drive and its a bit of a pisser getting there from Gateshead via public transport. Bugger it i'll taxi it up and put a claim in for expenses.
Anyways i get there and go in with a lovely young lady in her mid 20s who goes through the patter with me and asks pretty much the same stuff the doctor had as my notes hadnt come through yet. A few weird stretching and arm bending and moving around for her to evaluate any restriction of movement.
So onto the couch. Asked me to take my top off and lay face down on the couch whilst she proceeded to search for anywhere that was tight, sore or tender. Got a bit rough too towards the end but apparantly its for my own good. She also gave me the green light to exercise again which is a bit of a relief. The diet fell apart a bit over Christmas and not exercising hasnt helped.
In a lot of pain during November but December and January ive used it as a bit of a crutch i guess, especially since i quit the cigarettes at new year.
Also back at WW and lost 2 lbs this week which took me back to the 2 stone off mark.
As well as the cigarettes ive also quit CocaCola as it was one of my main weaknesses as i was doing about 2 litres a day of the stuff.
So physio every Monday
Exercising again
No smoking
No pop
No eating rubbish
The journey towards health is mapped out,
Tuesday was back to normal at Poker
2 tournaments - out of both on first hand !!!!!
a) KTd in BB , Folded to SB who limps. 8d 5d 2d flop .
He raises, i reraise. Chips in middle and he has A9d
b) AA in early Pos , raise 4x. Button reraises, I jam. he calls.
75o Flop 875 i genuinely laughed
Right im off to bed now as not playing tonight and going to try and avoid staying up till stupid o'clock through the week.
Good luck all and thanks as ever for reading.
Paul

Well done on the giving up smoking.
Better to temporarily eat more if it helps than feel deprived on all counts in my view.
I know someone who would immediately go for a brisk walk around the block every time they craved a cigarette but I have a feeling she might have done that in the summer, shes running marathons now though!
Good luck with keeping off the pop mate! My weakness is peanuts of all things and since cutting them out and stopping drinking during the week I have lost 6lbs in the last three weeks. Nothing spectaular but whatever.
Bit of a pisser they can't get you a physio closer to home. Can't you drive because of the injuries then?
congrats on giving up smoking and pop
hope that you can stick with it
I havent smoked for 15 years now and it was so painful to give up. After about six months you start to taste food properly though and that makes it all worth it.
on a side note, I have tried locating the threee colunm template that you use with out success, everyone that I find has problems with them when I import the HMTL code. If its possible could you cut and paste and email the code for me as you use blogspot and may not cause me any problems?
email to stephenholden@connectfree.co.uk many thanks

All the best for 2009.
Great results recently, I must give up my Stars donkathons and return to Hills, it's my first love. Do you multi table and if do, what kind of PC set-up do you have? I always enjoy your blog. Keep healing.
